Heritage Park Hosts Florida's Lost Tribes Summer Exhibition
Saturday, May 31, 2008 - Saturday, August 30, 2008The City of Fort Walton Beach Heritage Park & Cultural Center announces the coming arrival of its second summer exhibit, "Florida's Lost Tribes." The exhibition showcases the compelling artwork of Theodore Morris, portrait creator of Florida's ancient vanished people. His award-winning work and self-authored book is based on research with renowned archaeologists across the state. The exhibit is open to the public in the Yulee Way Lazarus Education Center at the Indian Temple Mound Museum Monday through Saturday, May 31-August 30 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Information: 850.833.9595

Art on the Harbor at HarborWalk Villages & SummerFest on Destin Harbor

Each Sunday we are delighted to host a colorful and whimsical Art Show on the Destin Harbor. The show features incredible artwork from some of the Emerald Coast’s most noted artists. The 2008 show, which is held every Sunday for twelve weeks beginning June 1st and running until August 17th from 11:00 a.m. - Sunset, will include such artists as Don Sawyer (watercolor), Judy Goodfellow (oils/fine art), Pam Camp (mixed media/whimsical signs), Michael McCarty (abstract art), Connie Chartier (clay/pottery), Judy Shillingburg (watercolor), Susan Fedullo (mixed media), Mary Schmiedicke (fused/wired glass), Tony Krysinsky (wood carvings), Michael John Cheney (photography) and Diane Stark (jewelry). SummerFest on Destin Harbor
Summerfest on the Harbor will begin June 1 and run for 12 weeks through August 23. Thursday nights will be the "Red, White and Blue Celebration on the Harbor" and will honor one local military hero with a key to the city. The night will culminate in fireworks. Saturday nights will "Rock the Docks" with live music at harbor businesses and a chance to win a trip for two to the Budweiser Brewery in St. Louis. Sundays "Art on the Harbor" begins at 11:00 a.m. featuring watercolors, oil paintings, and much more, including an area featuring art projects for kids. Youth Village Summer Arts/Education Camp
Monday, June 9, 2008 - Friday, August 15, 2008We will teach the children various aspects of theater production from costuming and theatrical make-up to the fundamentals of dramatic interpretation. We also include Reading/Writing/Science (fun, hands-on-stuff). All children will take place in our end-of-summer Community Production!
